Are England’s Batting Techniques To Blame For The Rajkot Debacle? Vaughan’s Verdict

ENG Batting

England were hammered by Rohit Sharma and company by 434 runs in the third test match of the series, which was being played in Rajkot.

Ben Stokes and his men have received a lot of criticism from the cricketing world. One of the prominent faces of English cricket, Michael Vaughan, has also raised questions about England’s batting approach after their defeat in the third test in Rajkot.

After England’s batting fell flat on Indian conditions in Rajkot on day four, Michael Vaughan feels that the Bazball approach of England has been exposed in the subcontinent.

Michael Vaughan said, “I am afraid Bazball has been exposed this week. It’s great when it works. The first test was a pitch that did all sorts, so I get Bazball on that pitch, but not the last two, where the pitches have been absolutely fine to just play with positive intent but more so common sense.”.

Before Rohit Sharma and company wrapped things up in the third test, Vaughan predicted that this would be the first time that the Bazball approach was going to get humiliation for Ben Stokes and his team. He also posted the same thing on social media.

“Even when this England team has lost in the previous 2 years, you have always been able to take positives out of them or they haven’t been hammered, but this is looking like a wake-up call that surely sends a message that you can’t just play in just one way against the top teams,” Vaughan had posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Team India and England will once again be up for another tussle, which is going to take place in Ranchi on February 23.
