Watch: Rahul Dravid Leads India’s Support Staff On Triund Trek

Amid the high-pressure ICC World Cup 2023, India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, decided to take a breather and recharge his batteries. This refreshing pause involved embarking on the famous Triund Trek in Dharamshala, known for its breathtaking natural beauty and calming vistas. Dravid and India’s support staff seized the opportunity during a week-long break before their next league stage encounter against defending champions England.

With the World Cup 2023 underway, cricket enthusiasts and players are immersed in the thrill of the game. For India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, a cricketing legend himself, it’s essential to step away from the daily rigours of the tournament and rejuvenate. The week-long break before the next match in Lucknow was the perfect time to do so.

Rahul Dravid took the initiative to lead India’s support staff on this adventure. His companions on the journey included batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and other support staff members. Their excursion to the Triund Trek was a leisurely getaway and a chance to witness nature’s grandeur.

The Triund Trek is a renowned tourist spot in the majestic Dhauladhar mountains. This trek has gained immense popularity, drawing tourists from far and wide. Earlier, the likes of Nasser Hussain and Mike Atherton, part of the Sky Sports commentary panel, visited the spot, contributing to its popularity.

In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rahul Dravid can be seen appreciating the magnificent views the Triund Trek offers. He described the experience as challenging but rewarding.

Dravid said, “Superb view coming up to Triund. Just getting here, you are going up the mountain, climbing. It’s a challenging trek, I must admit it. Once you come here, the views are breathtaking, spectacular. It’s incredible for the support staff to be able to come here. Just a great day out as well.”

Dravid expressed his concern about the unstructured and risky nature of the trek. While the support staff could enjoy this respite, the players of the Indian team, currently busy with World Cup commitments, were advised to avoid the trek.

Dravid concluded, “Unfortunately, can’t bring the boys up here; a bit too risky walking on those stones. But hopefully, one day when they are not playing (any tournament), I would love for some of the boys to come here and experience this.”
