Suryakumar Yadav Joins The Elite List Of KL Rahul And Kohli, Becomes Fourth Fastest Indian To Smash This Record

In the 25th match of the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets. In this match, MI batter Suryakumar Yadav played a furious knock of 52 runs in just 19 balls including five fours and four sixes.

With this inning, Suryakumar Yadav has surpassed the 7000-run mark in his T20 career. Not only this, he became the fourth-fastest lad to get this achievement in the history of T20 cricket.

The 33-year-old batter reached this milestone while playing for Mumbai in their match against Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Thursday, April 11, at the famous Wankhede Stadium.

Suryakumar achieved this milestone in his 249th inning in T20 matches. KL Rahul holds the record for being the fastest among Indian batters, reaching it in his 197th innings during Lucknow’s IPL 2023 match against Gujarat. Overall, Rahul is the third fastest to reach this landmark, after Babar Azam (187) and Chris Gayle (192).

Indian superstar batter Virat Kohli holds the second position for the fastest Indian to reach 7000 T20 runs, he achieved this feat in his 212th innings during a T20I against New Zealand in Rajkot back in 2017. Shikhar Dhawan achieved this milestone in his 246th inning.
