Cricket great Brian Lara has picked his 15-member Indian squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Lara picked this playing XI while having a conversation with Star Sports.
Lara’s squad has a nice mix of veteran players and rising talent. Youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube are part of the team alongside established T20 stars like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya.
Lara chose not to include in-form batsman KL Rahul and in his place, he picked both Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson for the wicketkeeper’s role.
For the spin department, he went with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja along with Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Talking about the fast bowling options, Jasprit Bumrah is the prime choice for Lara. The other three bowlers in the Brian Lara squad are Sandeep Sharma, Mayank Yadav, and Arshdeep Singh. Mayank Yadav is the new candidate from the Lucknow Super Giants team where he has impressed all the former cricketers and fans with his raw pace.
