‘He Is Not Enough Good To Bat At No. 7’, Tom Moody Criticises This Indian All-rounder Ahead Of T20 World Cup 2024

Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody has given his strong opinion on the Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. Moody thinks that Jadeja is not the right fit for India’s No. 7 spot in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Moody chose Jadeja for his squad instead of Axar Patel but emphasized that Jadeja hasn’t made significant batting contributions in T20 cricket. He suggested that India needs a player who can score at a faster rate in that position.

While having a conversation with Star Sports, Moody said, “I wouldn’t be taking both (Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel). I’d be taking Jadeja purely because I’m looking for the best left-arm spinning option. He’s the best left-arm spinner in the country. In my eleven, he’s not batting seven. I don’t think he’s good enough to bat seven in a World Cup side. He’s proven that with his strike rate. You need an impact-type player batting at seven.”

The former Australian said that Jadeja is not good enough to bat in seven, however, he could be designated at number eight.

“I don’t think he’s good enough to bat seven in a World Cup side. He’s proven that with his strike rate. You need an impact-type player batting at seven.”

In this year of IPL, Ravindra Jadeja has scored 157 runs for Chennai Super Kings across innings. He has scored these runs at a strike rate of 131.93.
