In the 10th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 played at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, the Lucknow Super Giants defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets.
While batting first, Hyderabad scored a total of 121 runs for the loss of eight wickets. In response, the Lucknow team chased down the target of 122 runs in 16 overs while losing five wickets and with 24 balls to spare. Captain Rahul played a knock of 35 runs off 31 balls for Lucknow. Along with KL Rahul, Krunal Pandya performed exceptionally well scoring 34 runs off 23 balls.
For Hyderabad, Adil Rashid took two wickets while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, and Fazalhaq Farooqi got one wicket each.
Before it, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Aiden Markram won the toss and elected to bat first. It was the first match of IPL 2023, where a captain has chosen to bat first rather than bowling. The pitch of Lucknow supported the spinners to a great extent and they started building pressure from the initial stage of the game.
For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rahul Tripathi scored a maximum of 35 runs. Along with him, opener Anmolpreet Singh also got 31 runs. The team kept losing wickets at regular intervals and in the end, they settled with only 121 runs at the loss of 8 wickets.

For LSG, Krunal Pandya took three wickets for Lucknow. Amit Mishra took two wickets while Yash Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi took one wicket each.
Krunal Pandya looked superb with the bat as well as with the ball and he was picked as player of the match.
