Considering India’s current form and the team combination, several cricket experts, ex-players, and cricket fans have openly laid down their trust in Rohit Sharma and co.

In this article, let us look at India’s games and some key matches in the World Cup 2023.

India vs Australia – October 8, Chennai

Although India defeated Australia just before the World Cup at home, Australia is a tough team to beat in ICC events. The five-time champions have dominated the World Cup tournament for the last few decades and continue their supremacy. Australia is the only team that troubled India the most in World Cup events. Fans can never forget the 2003 and 2015 losses against Australia. India must go overboard to keep Australia in control. Rohit Sharma must devise a plan to tackle David Warner, Steve Smith, and Marnus Labuschagne, who can play spin well.

India vs Pakistan – October 14, Ahmedabad

India vs Pakistan matches are always highly anticipated, and when they happen in the World Cup, the anticipation only gets stronger. These encounters always unleash high pressures and intense emotions. Although India enjoys an unbeaten record in the ODI World Cup against Pakistan, the present side can upset India. Babar Azam-led Pakistan played fantastic cricket over the last few years and has become a formidable team. Extremely good at playing the spinners, the Indian bowling unit must work hard to restrain Pakistan batters to free their arms. Also, the top order must carefully handle Pakistan’s fiery bowling unit.

India will look to repeat the Asia Cup feat in this match, but the opposing captain and currently no. 1 ranked batsman, Babar Azam, will undoubtedly have other plans.

India vs New Zealand – October 22, Dharmasala

While India maintains a dominant track record against New Zealand in all three formats, New Zealand always had an upper hand in the ODI World Cup matches. New Zealand is the second team that disturbed India most after Australia in the World Cup.

Besides these three, India will have problems with South Africa and England. With a terrific batting lineup till the end, both teams can prove a tough pill to swallow for Rohit Sharma and his team.
