‘I Will Take Virat Kohli’s Wicket’, Pakistan Bowler Gives Warning To Indian Batter Before T20 World Cup 2024

The mystery spinner from Pakistan Abrar Ahmed is looking forward to playing for his country in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Not only this, he also dreams of grabbing the wicket of legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli.

India and Pakistan have frequently been grouped together in recent ICC events. This trend continues in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, which will be hosted jointly by the West Indies and the USA. In Group A, they will be joined by the USA, Canada, and Ireland. The clash between India and Pakistan, scheduled for June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, is eagerly anticipated.

Abrar made his international debut in December 2022 against England in a Test match but had to wait until last month to play his first T20I. He appeared in three out of five T20Is between Pakistan and New Zealand, taking two wickets with an impressive economy rate of 5.75.

The 25-year-old has been named in the squad for the Ireland and England series this month, and it’s expected that he will also be selected for the 15-man squad for the World Cup in June. Abrar is focused on winning every game for his country, but he revealed that his ultimate dream is to dismiss former India captain Kohli in the upcoming World Cup event.

According to Geo Super, Abrar said,”I was named in the squad [for the upcoming] series, I will focus on every match. We have world-class spinners, the goal is to win matches for Pakistan. Our target [in the World Cup] is all teams, [but] my dream is to take the wicket of Virat Kohli,” he added. I’m also trying to improve my batting.”
