‘I Am Going To Make It Uncomfortable For Indian Batters’, South Africa Batter Insane Statement Before Mega Clash

The left-arm pacer of the South Africa U-19 team, Kwena Maphaka, has given a huge statement expressing his determination to create a challenging atmosphere for India’s batters in the U-19 World Cup 2024 semifinal scheduled for Tuesday, February 6, in Benoni.

Maphaka has delivered an outstanding performance in the U-19 World Cup 2024, claiming an impressive 18 wickets in five matches with an average of 9.56. His skillful inswingers and yorkers have garnered attention from both fans and cricket experts.

India and South Africa clashed twice in a tri-series held in South Africa before the U-19 World Cup, and India emerged victorious on both occasions.

In an interaction through ICC, Maphaka said, “Usually, the more you face someone, the more comfortable it gets, but I am going to make it as uncomfortable as possible for the Indian batters in the semi-finals.”

“Having the whole country come to back you would be truly insane. The vibe is very different, you know [when the crowd’s behind you]. It’s something that pushes me,” he said.

South Africa comfortably reached the semifinals of the 2024 U-19 World Cup with convincing victories over Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, winning by nine wickets and 119 runs, respectively.

Maphaka confidently stated that he considers himself one of the best bowlers in the current U-19 World Cup.

“I know I am right up there with some of the best bowlers in the tournament. I wouldn’t say I am the best, but I’m up there,” the 17-year-old commented.
