After David Warner, Now James Anderson Reveals His Retirement Plan

Legendary England pacer James Anderson has talked about his retirement plans, expressing his desire to conclude his cricketing career on a positive note. Anderson is presently participating in the ongoing third Test against India at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot and he is standing on the verge of attaining 700 wickets in the red-ball cricket.

Anderson holds an impressive record and has featured in 185 Test matches for England where has secured a remarkable 695 wickets. In the all-time Test wicket-takers list, he trails behind the legendary Australia spinner Shane Warne with 708 wickets and former Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan who has 800 wickets to his name.

While talking to TalkSport, Anderson said that he doesn’t intend to prolong his retirement and expressed the wish that one day he will wake up knowing it’s the right time to retire.

Anderson said, “I would like to be able to go out on a nice note. I don’t want to drag it out and people are thinking: ‘Can you just do one.’ Morgs [Morgan] last year woke up and just knew it was time to call it a day. I am just hoping that is the case.”

Anderson further added, “I feel privileged to have got in a position where I can make a decision because, as a bowler, it is usually taken out of your hands with injury or selection. It will be nice to go out on my own terms, but when that will be, you just have to wait and see.”
