India’s rising speedster Umran Malik impressed the whole world with his bowling skills and speed. His performance in the previous IPL season was up to the mark. He has registered 22 wickets in 14 IPL matches. Umran got a breakthrough in the national team in 2022 and made his appearance in 5 ODIs matches and 3 T20Is for his national team. Umran also got a place in the upcoming series against Sri Lanka in both the format of the series.
Due to his blazing speed in bowling, the young Indian speedster compared with former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar. Shoaib Akhtar holds the record for the fastest delivery in International cricket against New Zealand in 2002, 161kmph.
Attending a sports show, where Umran was asked whether he would be looking forward to breaking the record of the former Pakistani cricketer. Umran replied he doesn’t think about the record and wants to perform better for the team.
Right now, I’m only thinking about performing well for the country. If I do well and I’m lucky, I’ll break that. But I don’t think about it at all. You don’t get to realize how fast you’ve bowled during the match. Only when we came back after the game did we learn how fast I was. During the game, my only focus is on bowling in the right areas and picking wickets,” Umran Malik said.
