The T20I series between India and West Indies has really kept the fans on the edge as the India team led by Hardik Pandya achieved an impressive nine-wicket win in Lauderhill, Florida. Now it will be interesting to see the kind of heated moment and clash between both these teams in the final match of the five-match T20I series.
While chasing the target of 179 runs, India’s opening duo, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill showed their exceptional batting skills. At one side Gill played an impressive knock of 77 runs from 47 deliveries. On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unbeaten 84 runs off 51 balls led to a remarkable 165-run partnership between these youngsters.
The partnership between Jaiswal and Shubman Gill has really delighted the cricket world, especially the Indian fans. Former Indian batter Robin Uthappa has compared both Gill and Jaiswal to the iconic Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.
While having a conversation with Jio Cinema, Uthappa said,”Everyone who plays for India are equally capable and have equal ability but the way Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill bat in tandem; they can bat for each other as well and they need to find that space. If they do, they are going to be a very dangerous pair for India in years to come.”
Comparing the legendary Tendulkar-Ganguly, Uthappa said that the youngsters can set the same tone for India. The Tendulkar-Ganguly combination collected an incredible 6609 runs as opening partners in ODIs.
“It will be a hot pair and they can be something as great as Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly opening the batting. They need to figure a few things out and if they do, they will do great things for India,” he added.
