Temba Bavuma Ruled Out Of The 2nd Test Against India, This Player To Take Charge

The second Test between South Africa and India will be played at Newlands in Cape Town. Before it, South African fans got disappointing news as the captain of the side Temba Bavuma will miss the game due to injury.

Due to his inability to recover from a hamstring injury sustained during the first innings in Centurion, the right-handed batsman will be unavailable. In place of Bavuma, Dean Elgar will take the captaincy role in Cape Town, and this match will also mark the conclusion of his Test career.

Bavuma incurred a left hamstring strain while pursuing the ball towards the boundary in the first innings. He left the field accompanied by the South African support staff and did not make a return for the remainder of the match. In his absence, Elgar assumed the captaincy responsibilities.

After some time, it was revealed that the 33-year-old underwent scans, and his availability for the game is still uncertain. Bavuma did not come out to bat, with the team management deeming it too risky to allow him to participate in the batting aspect of the match.

However, it was announced that Bavuma would be prepared to bat if South Africa found themselves in a critical situation during the fourth innings. However, the home side secured a comprehensive victory within three days and won the match with an innings and 32 runs.
