Shivam Dube Reacts On His Competition With Hardik Pandya And Vijay Shankar For 2023 ODI World Cup

The Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube has shown a great batting display for his team Chennai Super Kings in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League. He was one of the prime reasons why Chennai Super Kings lifted their fifth title of this prestigious league. Even after these performances, it would be very difficult for a CSK star to make into the team India due to the availability of some world class all-rounders.

In a recent interview, Dube has said that he wants to make a place in the Indian World Squad and he is focusing on himself rather than keeping his eye on Hardik Pandya or Vijay Shankar.

Dube turned out to be the pillar for the Chennai Super Kings in the middle-overs and he gathered 418 runs in 16 matches he has played. During this he possesses a strike rate of 158.33 and an average of 38. However, Dube was used by Dhoni as a specialist batter and in response Dube contributed the most for his team.

While talking to MyKhel, Dube said,”Yes. Of course (eyeing a place in India’s World Cup squad). Every player wants to play in a World Cup, more so when it’s happening in India. But I can only focus on my own performances, the rest is up to the selectors.”

Shivam Dube has shown remarkable progress in his cricketing skills over the past few years and is determined to make a comeback to the Indian national cricket team, having last played in February 2020. Like other cricketers, Dube has a strong desire to be selected for the Indian squad in the upcoming World Cup.

While talking about his competition with Hardik Pandya and Vijay Shankar, Dube said,”No. I am my only competition. I don’t look at other players. I train every day to become better than I was the day before.”
