New Zealand Announces 13-member Squad For T20I Series Against Bangladesh, Kane Williamson Picked To Lead The Team

New Zealand has announced a 13-player squad for an upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh on home turf. This series marks the commencement of their preparations for the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA next year. The star batter Kane Williamson who hasn’t participated in T20Is since the series against India is making a comeback as the captain of the side.

Earlier this month, Kane Williamson was included in the Test squad for the two-match series against Bangladesh. He was given a rest during the current ODI series, which commenced at the University Oval in Dunedin on Sunday. It is anticipated that Kane Williamson is one of the key figures for New Zealand cricket and he will assume his leadership duties for the T20 World Cup next year.

The veteran batter is focused on maintaining good form and staying injury-free as he gears up for the prestigious tournament. Williamson is set to represent the Gujarat Titans in the upcoming IPL season. He missed the last edition due to an injury that he got while fielding.

The wicket-keeper batter Tim Seifert, has been also reintroduced to the New Zealand squad, particularly for the role at the top of the batting order.
