Mammoth Record Set By English Bowling Pair James Anderson And Stuart Broad In Test Cricket

England’s two legendary fast bowlers, James Anderson and Stuart Broad have taken a big and shared world record in Test cricket history. Playing in the first Test match of the series against New Zealand, James Anderson took 3 wickets, and Stuart Broad took one wicket in the first innings. With this, both became the second pair in Test cricket history to take 1,000 wickets while bowling together.

However, former Australian bowlers late Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath took 1001 wickets in Test cricket while bowling together. The pair of Anderson and Broad equaled the record for a pair of Kangaroo bowlers. Both had taken 1001* wickets in their name while playing Test matches together.

But in the second innings, Stuart Broad took three wickets against New Zealand. The McGrath-Warne pair’s world record for the most wickets was broken as soon as he took the first wicket in the second innings.

Anderson bagged 678 wickets in 178* Tests so far in his career, and Broad has taken 571 wickets in 160* Tests. Anderson is third in taking the most wickets in Test cricket history. At the same time, Broad is on the fifth position. Both players are continuously writing new histories of success by maintaining their fitness.

However, former Sri Lankan bowlers Muralitharan and Vaas playing together, grabbed 895 wickets in 95 test matches. West Indian Ambrose & Walsh picked 762 wickets while playing together in 95 test matches. And the current Australian speedster Starc and spinner Nathan Lyon pair picked 580 wickets in 73 test matches.
