This Match Will Be Farewell Match Of Mahendra Singh Dhoni; Check Full Details

The schedule of the Indian Premier League 2023 is out now, and with this, the stage has been set for the departure of veteran cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni from the IPL.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been captaining CSK since the IPL started. Dhoni returned as captain after CSK was banned for 2 years. Last season, Dhoni handed over the responsibility of captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja, but Jadeja failed to win the team. In such a situation, the captaincy was given to Dhoni from Jadeja.

In the upcoming season, CSK will start their campaign in IPL against defending champions Gujarat Titans. If CSK fails to qualify for the playoffs, Dhoni’s farewell match could be against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 14 at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

Talking to a media house, a CSK official said, ‘Yes, this will be the last season of MS as a player. This is what we know so far. It is his decision. He has not officially told the team management that he will retire. It is good news for CSK fans that IPL is returning to Chennai. But it will not be good for us that Dhoni will play his last season.”

Under the captaincy of Dhoni, CSK will try to win the title for the fifth time, and then it will be a great farewell for MS Dhoni. Dhoni has already said he would like to play the last match in front of his home crowd.
Chennai Super Kings also picked English all-rounder Ben Stokes in the auction, and they will be looking at him as the next skipper. But, most cricket experts are suggesting Rituraj as the next skipper of the Indian team.

This is a big season for MS Dhoni and the fans of Dhoni because Mahi is retired from all formats of cricket. And IPL is the only where your fans can see him playing. Everyone knows about the fan following of MS Dhoni. When he came to bat, the whole stadium started chanting his name and turned into the Yellow.
