‘I Am Ready To Bat…’, Shreyas Iyer Huge Statement After Scoring The Valiant Century Against Australia

Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer has expressed his promptness to bat in any position that benefits the team. Iyer’s statement comes after his outstanding century contributed to India’s 99-run victory over Australia through the DLS method in the second ODI of the three-match series held at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

In an interview with Jio Cinema after the match, Iyer showed his willingness to adapt and bat in whatever position the team management deems fit. During the Indore match, he showcased his batting prowess by scoring 105 runs from 90 deliveries which included 11 boundaries and three sixes.

“Management has told me that I would be batting at this particular number. I am flexible at whatever number I get to bat, whatever the team requires at that point of time. If I have to go lower down the order or up the order, I’m fine with it,” said Iyer.

Talking further, he expressed his eagerness to seize every opportunity that comes his way and he is determined to give all his efforts for the team. Iyer is part of India’s 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

“There is competition and that’s the best part about being in the team. When you represent India, you know there will be challenges. As a professional, I can’t be complaining about that. And all I can say is that I would embrace the opportunity of the future and see to it that I leave no stone unturned,” Iyer added.
