Ravichandran Ashwin Achieves Huge Milestone, Surpasses Anil Kumble To Become Number One

In the second ODI against Australia India beat Australia by 99 runs from the DLS method. The match was played at Holkar Stadium, Indore on September 24. In this match, both the batting and bowling department of team India shined to a full extent. Star Indian off-spinner who is making his return to the ODI side after years, has made a huge record with his 3/41.

Australia won the toss and invited team India to bat first. While batting first, team India scored a mammoth 399 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. After that rain interrupted the match and Australia got a revised target of 317 runs in 33 overs.

Indian off-spinner Ashwin got Marnus Labuschagne, David Warner and Josh Inglish. With this, Ashwin now has 144 wickets against Australia in international cricket which is highest by any Indian bowler. Before him this record belonged to Anil Kumble who has a tally of 142 wickets against the Aussies in international cricket.

Former veteran Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has 129 wickets while the world-cup winning captain kapil Dev has 124 wickets in international cricket against the Aussies.

For India, Opener Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer scored solid hundreds. While Iyer scored 105 runs in 90 balls with the help of 11 fours and three sixes, Shubman Gill got 104 runs in 97 deliveries with the help of six fours and four sixes.
