How ‘Bazball Approach’ Is Similar To MS Dhoni’s Captaincy In IPL 2023? AB de Villiers Asserts An Interesting Similarity

Former South African batting legend Ab De Villiers has talked about the infamous Bazball approach by the England Cricket Team and the captaincy of MS Dhoni in IPL 2023. De Villiers said that there is a similarity between both approaches as it gives a higher chance to the team to win the match apart from the rest.

The ex-RCB star came to his social media and talked about how effective the Bazball approach is and how he identified the same thing from the Chennai Super Kings captain in the recently concluded 16th season of the Indian Premier League.

Posting his thoughts on Twitter, De Villiers wrote: “I never looked at the Birmingham weather leading up to this Test match. The way England played now makes sense. Call it what you want, some say Bazz Ball, I just think it’s smart Cricket. The best teams are prepared to adapt and play situations in a way that’ll ultimately put them in a winning position more often than the rest, whether that’s by making bold declarations or playing reverse sweeps a lot, whatever it takes.”

The Tweet further reads: “The only way to make it impactful is to have complete buy-in from every individual, no egos, no stats-driven players, just a full-on buy-in to be the best team in the world. That’s how I see the Eng team play atm. Also saw that with MSD and co. in the IPL Gonna be a fascinating final day. Let’s get it going. Aus still in with a chance here, unlikely, but possible.”

Chennai Super Kings also played some fearless cricket, especially in the middle overs where Ajinky Rahane showed some incredible hitting while Shivam Dube took charge of the team in almost every match to win some impossible games.
