World Cricket fans witnessed a verbal spat between the former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir and the RCB star Virat Kohli in the recently concluded IPL. A couple of weeks after that incident the left-handed batter Gambhir finally talked about his relationship with Virat Kohli. Kohli and Gambhir had a tense situation during the match between LSG and RCBn during the 16th edition of the cash-rich league.
Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli were teammates during India’s successful 2011 World Cup campaign and then fans saw some intense rivalry in the IPL between them. After RCB’s victory over the LSG team in match No. 43 of IPL 2023, Kohli and Gambhir engaged in a heated exchange.
After the ugly fight with Virat Kohli, the LSG mentor highlighted that there is nothing personal between him and Kohli. Meanwhile, the ex-KKR captain also included MS Dhoni’s name in the conversation, the Indian captain who has won all the major ICC trophies.
“My relationship with MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli is the same. If there is an argument between us, it stays only on the field, not off the field. There’s nothing personal. They want to win as much as I do,” Gambhir said in an interview with News 18.
He further stated, “Look, I have had many fights on cricket fields. It’s not like I never fought. I have always ensured to let those fights and arguments stay on the cricket field only. The argument was between two people and it should stay within the cricket field and not outside it. A lot of people said many things. A lot of people demanded an interview for TRPs like they asked me to clarify. The thing that has happened between two people doesn’t need to be clarified.”
