Former English Skipper Joe Root Levelled The Record Of Sir Don Bradman, Next Eye On Kohli’s Record

Currently, the English cricket team is playing two-match test series against New Zealand. The first test match was won by England, and they led the series in kiwi’s home. Young English batter Harry Brook is setting the record with his masterclass knocks. And now former England captain Joe Root has also ended his century drought in Test cricket. And scored 101 off 182 balls in the second Test match of the ongoing series against New Zealand (NZ vs ENG) in Wellington.

Root, one of the great batters of modern cricket, has levelled the 29 Test centuries of the great player Don Bradman. The special thing is that Root has scored a century after 7 months in Test cricket.

In terms of scoring the most international centuries in the list of active players, Root is second only to India’s veteran batters Virat Kohli. With this, Root has 45 international centuries to his name. Virat has 74 international centuries to his name. In this list, Australian opener David Warner (45), Rohit Sharma (43) and Steve Smith (42) come after Root.

Earlier in the match, New Zealand won the toss and invited England to bat first. Visitors scored 315 runs for 3 wickets in the first innings till the end of the first day’s play. Harry Brook is unbeaten on 184 off 169 balls and he is very close to a career double century. The English team had lost the wickets of opener Jack Crowley, Ben Duckett and Oli Pope early. Root and Brook have added 294 runs for the fourth wicket.
