Riyan Parag is having phenomenal success as a batter in the ongoing season with the Rajasthan Royals. The star batter has won the game on many occasions when his side was in trouble in the tournament. However, in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Riyan Parag played a magnificent knock of 77 but could not take his side over the line, and the Rajasthan Royals eventually lost the game by 1 run.
Speaking about his innings, Riyan Parag feels that he has a lot of things to work on as he has not been in the best of his form.
Riyan Parag said, “I have a lot of areas to improve. I am not in my best form; I would have finished the game otherwise. I have a lot of areas to perfect. I try to learn from my mistakes and not repeat them. Is it my best inning? No. I would say that if I got a hundred.”
Riyan Parag has been with the Royals for a long period of time but was not able to perform in the lower middle order; however, he changed his batting position and has shown a drastic turn in his fortune. The youngster from Assam has scored over 400 runs in the ongoing season.
Speaking about the loss Riyan Parag termed this dramatic and felt that some small mistakes cost them the match.
Riyan Parag said, “It is never good to end on the losing side. We did a lot of things right. We will focus on more rather than dwelling on our mistakes. We are in a good position at the points table. Just one bad game, I guess. We made a few errors in two-three overs, and it cost us the game. That is how T20 is; IPL is.”
Parag also credited the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers for their brilliant execution under pressure.
Riyan Parag said, “Credit to how SRH bowled, how Bhuvneshwar and Cummins bowled, especially that 19th over by Cummins.”
