After IPL And WPL, BCCI Is Set To Launch This Mega Tournament In India

According to the latest report, the Board Of Control For Cricket In India(BCCI) is now planning to launch its own T10 league. Its possible launch period is slated for September to October next year.

The roadmap for this potential league is reportedly being formulated under the supervision of BCCI secretary Jay Shah. This initiative resonates with the increasing popularity and financial value of cricket leagues. The Indian Premier League (IPL) recently attained decacorn status, boasting a valuation of around $10.7 billion, as indicated in a report by Brand Finance a week ago.

As per Moneycontrol, the initiation of the T10 format cricket league is presently in its initial stages. Despite being in the early planning phase, the BCCI has received favorable responses from stakeholders and potential sponsors.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is actively engaged in working on this proposal. The selection of a T10 format is deemed strategic and as per the insider, this T10 league is going to enhance the popularity of cricket in India and across the world.

According to the report, cricket boards that are facing challenges with limited earnings from bilateral series can have some good gains from this league. However, there are apprehensions about the potential impact on traditional ODI cricket.
