What is RCB Great’s Opinion On Ishan Kishan’s Absence from Domestic Cricket?

Team India’s young wicketkeeper-batsman, Ishan Kishan, has been in the news headlines for quite some time now. The wicketkeeper has been out of action since India’s team traveled to South Africa for a multi-format series.

However, when Team India was up against the Proteas, Ishan Kishan asked team management for a well-deserved break, citing mental fatigue, and has been out of action since then. Several cricket experts have raised their voices for and against the action of Ishan Kishan.

On the other hand, team India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, made it quite clear that Ishan Kishan needed to play some sort of cricket to make him eligible for selection in international cricket.

Amongst all the greats of the game, Ab Devilliers also raised his opinion on the topic. In his YouTube channel, he says that the kind of situation in which Ishan Kishan is right now is very tricky, and players try to manage their cricket carrier. The former South African great also feels that players do run out of energy and go into a shell, which is quite natural for any human being.

He also said that he doesn’t know if it’s right or wrong, but there should be proper communication between the players and team management.

De Villiers further stated that he would like to wish all the players the best of luck, as it was difficult for him to manage his own career towards the end, and it needs clean and clear communication.

Ishan Kishan has also not made himself available for Jharkhand’s last Ranji game, which is against Rajasthan. It will be interesting to see what action BCCI will take on Ishan Kishan in the near future.
