In the ICC World Test Championship final of 2023, David Warner looked in good touch with the bat and gave stability to the team with his batting. He took Australia out of a tough situation after the dismissal of Usman Khawaja. In an over against Umesh Yadav he hit four boundaries to gain some momentum.

Warner was almost there on the verge of getting a half-century but then he tried to pull a short delivery by Shardul Thakur which was not connected well with the bat. KS Bharat standing behind the wicket converted this chance and took a remarkable catch to send off Warner.
Before getting a wicket, Warner scored 43 runs in 60 balls. During this inning, he got eight fours and weaved a 69-run partnership with Marnus Labuschagne for the second wicket.
