He Is Big Tournament Player’, Sourav Ganguly Backs This Indian Veteran To Perform Brilliantly In 2024 T20 World Cup

The form of Rohit Sharma in the ongoing season of IPL 2024 has been one of the most highlighted points for the experts to talk about. Sharma has not been up to the mark in this season and he has struggled with bat. After the end of the IPL, the ICC T20 World Cup is going to start. However, former Indian batter Sourav Ganguly has said that fans should not stress themselves regarding Rohit’s form as he is a very big player when it comes to the ICC tournament.

Ganguly showed faith in Rohit Sharma’s abilities for the upcoming T20 World Cup, set to kick off on June 1 in the United States of America and the West Indies. He also recommended that Virat Kohli should partner with Rohit to open the innings for India. Kohli’s exceptional performance in the Indian Premier League 2024 season, where he currently holds the Orange Cap in the tournament.

“India is a very good team. Rohit will play well in the World Cup. He plays well in big tournaments. At the big stage, he will be fine,” said Ganguly.

Sharma has faced a tough season and has scored only 349 runs across 13 innings with an average of 29.08. Notably, he achieved a century against CSK at the Wankhede Stadium, although his team got a defeat.

On the other hand, Kohli is opening the innings for RCB where he has maximised the powerplay overs. In this tournament, Kohli has scored 661 runs in 13 matches at an average of 66.10.
