‘Virat and Rohit Are Playing For Personal Milestone…’ Sunil Gavaskar Blamed These Three On India’s Defeat

It seems that Sunil Gavaskar, a former Indian cricketer, and commentator, was critical of the Indian batters’ performance in the World Test Championship final. According to the information you provided, Gavaskar expressed his disappointment with the Indian players for their poor shot selection and dismissals while nearing personal milestones.

Gavaskar specifically mentioned that Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ajinkya Rahane were playing loose shots when they were close to reaching individual landmarks. He emphasized that while scoring a half-century is important, it should not come at the cost of throwing away one’s wicket.

On the last day of the final, where India needed to chase 444 runs for victory, Gavaskar highlighted that the Indian team made consecutive mistakes. Unfortunately, you haven’t provided details about those mistakes, but it suggests that India’s performance on the final day was disappointing.

  1. Pathetic display by the India batting power house. I am being brutally frank when I say that they are all playing for personal milestones and we as fans are only looking at individual performances and not team performance.
There has to be drastic changes that need to happen in the team. Let us build a new team from scratch. Why not?
Nobody’s place in the team can be taken for granted.
    Hope the BCCI is listening.

  2. We are also responsible for it.Can we all completely boycott one match to teach them a lesson, especially the so called “Legends”?

  3. Rohit has no confidence in him otherwise he should have batted first. Dropping Ashin is disaster. Only for Jadeja, Rahane (best overseas batter) and Shardul match was taken to five days.

  4. It seems India is finding it pretty hard to stomach their loss against Australia in the world test championship. Come on fellas its high time to grow up and not whine over Green’s catch, accept the fact that the umpire’s decision is final and out he is, its sheer arrogance to go public on a decision already passedout by the third umpire, Australia won because they played better in all departments they were the better side. CONGRATULATIONS AUSTRALIA for a well deserved victory you simply did not win against the Indians you trounced them comprehensively. India go play IPL!!!
