Star Indian Cricketer To Be Rested For Ranchi Test, This Is The Reason

India won the third game of the five-match Test series played at Niranjan Shah Stadium, Rajkot by a huge margin of 434 runs. However, surprising news is coming out from the Indian dressing room.

According to the latest report, star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is set to take the fourth Test of the five-match series against England in Ranchi, following their 2-1 lead.

After making a comeback from a lengthy 11-month hiatus due to a back injury in August last year, Bumrah has been under careful management by the Indian cricket team. Since the World Cup in 2023, Bumrah has been exclusively selected for Test matches, featuring in the series against South Africa in December-January and the ongoing series against England.

According to a report from Cricbuzz, initially, Bumrah was planned to be rested for the Rajkot Test, but he will now be given a break during the Ranchi game next week as part of workload management, considering the upcoming IPL and T20 World Cup. This rest period will provide Bumrah with nearly a 20-day break before his return for the series finale in Dharamsala, scheduled to begin on March 7.

In the absence of Bumrah, Mukesh Kumar or a fourth spinner may step in as a replacement, depending on the nature of the pitch. Mukesh was temporarily released from the squad to participate in the Ranji Trophy during the third Test. He showcased an impressive performance by taking 10 wickets for Bengal against Bihar in that match.
