Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf Du Plessis has been fined Rs 12 lakh for a slow over-rate during the IPL match against Lucknow Super Giants. Lucknow won the match by one wicket on the last ball, after which their player Avesh Khan threw his helmet in the air in excitement. For this, the match referee reprimanded him.

This is the team’s first offence this season under the IPL code of conduct related to speed, and hence Captain Faf Du Plessis has been fined Rs 12 lakh.

As far as LSG’s fast bowler Avesh Khan is concerned, no financial penalty has been imposed on him, and he has only been warned. The announcement said, “Avesh Khan of Lucknow Supergiants has been reprimanded for violating the code of conduct. Avesh has accepted a level one offence of the IPL Code of Conduct. The match referee’s decision is final in a level one offence of the Code of Conduct.”

Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 212 runs for two wickets based on aggressive half-centuries of captain Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell. In response, Pooran and Stoinis laid the foundation for Lucknow’s memorable victory. Pooran scored the fastest half-century of this season in just 15 balls.

Earlier, du Plessis remained unbeaten for RCB after scoring 79 runs in 46 balls, while Kohli scored 61 runs in 44 balls. Both shared a 96-run partnership for the first wicket after being sent for the first batting. For the furious knock of 62 runs in just 19 balls with the help of four fours and seven sixes, Pooran had adjudged the player of the match.
