Why Virendra Shewag Advised David Warner Not To Play? Click Here To Check Full Report

The Delhi Capitals team is in bad condition in this season of IPL. The team has lost all its three matches. Delhi’s performance under the captaincy of David Warner has been very disappointing, and the team is missing Rishabh Pant. In the absence of Pant, Warner has scored two half-centuries but has failed to win the team.

Warner has played extremely slow innings this IPL, so he faces criticism. In the first match in Lucknow, the Delhi team scored only 143 runs while chasing the target of 194 runs. Warner scored 56 runs in 48 balls in this match. In the second match against Gujarat, Warner scored 37 runs in 32 balls. At the same time, chasing the target of 200 runs in the third match against Rajasthan, the Delhi team could score only 142 runs. Warner played an inning of 65 runs in 55 balls in this match.

Now former Delhi captain Virender Sehwag has criticized Warner. He has even advised Warner not to play in IPL.

Sehwag said, “I think the time has come that we tell them in English so that Warner hears it and feels hurt. David, if you’re listening, please play nice. Score 50 runs in 25 balls. Learn from Jaiswal. He has scored fifty in 25 balls. If you can’t do that, then don’t come and play in IPL.”

Former India batsman Rohan Gavaskar respected Sehwag’s view. Rohan said he was not expecting such a slow inning from a player like Warner.

Rohan said, “If you get out after scoring eight runs in eight balls, then one can say that he could not find that rhythm. But you are the captain of the team, and you have experience. He showed that he was the fastest to score 6000 IPL runs, so you can never imagine that Warner played such a slow inning against Rajasthan. If Warner had not been the captain of the Delhi Capitals, he would have retired hurt. Had any young Indian player replaced him, he would have lost the tournament, or this would have been his last match. Warner will have to take responsibility for this defeat.”
