He Was Ready For T20 World Cup But Was Overlooked By Selectors: Mohammad Kaif Spoke On T20 World Cup Failure Campaign Of Men In Blue

The grief of not winning the T20 World Cup 2022 is still in the heart of Indian cricket fans and experts. Men in blue and their coaching staff is getting criticism from all over the world, and the most question was raised on the team selection because they have picked Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik as the wicket keeper batter in the squad however Sanju Samson was overlooked by the selectors in the T20 World Cup 2022.

This question was also raised when BCCI announced the squad for the T20 World cup 2022, now again after ending the campaign of the T20 World Cup reflecting the same issue, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif questioned on overlooking the star wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson from the shortest format of the cricket world cup.

“Speaking of the future, I think one player was ready but was still not picked for the World Cup. Sanju Samson was ready for the No.5 position. He has been playing IPL for many years and has been leading Rajasthan Royals (RR) as well. He guided them to the final too this year” said Kaif.

Further talking on this issue, Kaif praised the approach of Sanju Samson in the T20 cricket, and also described his strength in how he hit boundaries to spinners as well as the pacers.

“Samson played match-winning knocks in West Indies. When 2-3 wickets fall, he comes in and attacks. He has the ability to attack on spinners and hit them for fours and sixes. He was ready but was not picked for the World Cup. That was a mistake,” Kaif added.

Now, Sanju is in the squad for the New Zealand tour and under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya and we hope he might get more strength in his batting. India will face New Zealand in the first T20 match on 18th November.
