Will Maxwell Retire Or Make A Comeback? Here Is A Big Update

The current ODI series between Australia and England has been called off after all-rounder Glenn Maxwell unexpectedly injured his leg on November 13 while at a friend’s party. He recently had surgery, and he’s started the recovery process to get fit soon.

The all-rounder will also miss a significant portion of the forthcoming Big Bash League 2022, but he plans to return in the second half of Australia’s top T20 competition.

Australia is scheduled to visit India in February 2023 for a four-match Test series, and Maxwell has made it known that he wants to be included in the team. Maxwell’s return date and his immediate objectives were updated by former Australian cricketer David Hussey.

David Hussey, coach of Melbourne Stars during an interview with RSN said, “Speaking to Glenn directly, he’s pretty hopeful of getting back towards the end of the BBL tournament and then targeting the Indian Test tour.”

He added, “Everyone knows what a wonderful player of spin he is and he has Indian experience.”

He concluded “There are a few goals for him to obtain and that makes the rehabilitation process more focused – so he can try and achieve those goals.”
