Since arriving in Wellington for the first game of the three-match T20I series against New Zealand, the Men in Blue have been working up a sweat. The players have been busy since arriving in Wellington on Monday, November 14.
VVS Laxman, the team’s interim head coach, is keeping a close eye on Team India as they make every effort to be ready for the NZ challenge. The BCCI has been providing regular updates to the fans via its social media account, and on Thursday (November 17), the top board published a video of the power-hitting of Indian batsmen.
The batters were practising massive shots in the centre of the field, from Shubman Gill to Rishabh Pant. The no-look shots Samson took fascinated the crowd. Samson not only made one, but two memorable no-look shots to delight the crowd. People who witnessed Samson’s bravery praised the batter right away.
Here’s the video:
The spotlight will be on people like Ishan Kishan, Washington Sundar, and Kuldeep Yadav in addition to Samson. A second-string team will be captained by Hardik Pandya. Rishabh Pant, who will continue to serve as vice-captain in ODIs, will support him. The ODI team will be led by Shikhar Dhawan.
On November 18, 20, and 22, respectively, Wellington, Mount Maunganui, and Napier will host the three T20 Internationals. Following the T20I match, the two teams will compete in three one-day internationals (ODIs) on November 25, 27, and 30, respectively, in Auckland, Hamilton, and Christchurch. Samson has also been selected for the ODI team. Since his debut in 2021, he has participated in 10 ODIs.
