Gujarat Titans (GT) displayed a balanced approach by making sensible acquisitions at the IPL Player Auction 2024 on Tuesday. Their squad reflects a perfect blend of youth and experience. This strategic combination suggests GT’s intention to build a well-rounded and competitive squad for the forthcoming IPL season.
The 2022 champions secured the services of Australian pacer Spencer Johnson for a sum of Rs 10 crore during the IPL Auction. GT also got the uncapped batter Shahrukh Khan for a considerable sum of Rs 7.4 crore, showcasing confidence in the young talent. The franchise added experience to its bowling arsenal by roping in veteran pacer Umesh Yadav for Rs 5.8 crore.
Before the auction, Hardik Pandya had been already pulled out from the franchise and he has been traded to Mumbai Indians where he will be captaining the team. It will be interesting to see how the team performs under the young Shubman Gill.
