On 22nd January 2024, the entire India celebrated the successful event of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the event and conducted the rituals to consecrate the idol of Lord Rama.
On this auspicious event, many prominent figures from the fields of cinema, sports, and business were present in the premises of the temple. However, notable Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were absent from the occasion and this has created a kind of buzz among the fans of the Indian Cricket Team.
Both Kohli and Sharma had received invitations for the historic event but were unable to attend. Reports suggest that the Indian cricket team had gathered in Hyderabad for their initial practice session on Sunday, January 21, before the Test series against England. Rohit Sharma joined the team on Monday, January 22, and was unable to attend the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, along with his wife Anushka Sharma received a personal invitation to the religious event but they failed to attend the event.
