Will Dhoni Retire After IPL 2023? Deepak Chahar Comes With An Interesting Statement

The 16th season of the Indian Premier League will again be back to the home-and-away format which was disturbed for two years due to Covid-19. The first match of the season will be played between the defending champion Gujarat Titans and the defending champions Chennai Super Kings at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Rumors are circulating that the former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who is also the skipper of CSK may retire from IPL after this season.

The star bowler of CSK Deepak Chahar has expressed his belief that the former Indian captain MS Dhoni may continue playing for the team for the next few seasons.

The 30-year-old fast bowler who was bought by the franchise for Rs 14 crore in last year’s mega auction mentioned that it would be unfair to assume that the upcoming IPL would be Dhoni’s last season.

While talking to News India Sports, Chahar said, “No one has said that this would be his final year. At least, he hasn’t. Hopefully, he will play more. We don’t know any such thing; we want him to play as much as he can.”

“He knows when to retire; we saw it when he did in Tests and international cricket. No one else knows. I just hope he continues to play; it’s a privilege to play under him. It has been a dream to play with him. He’s in good touch as well; you will see that when he bats in the IPL this year,” Chahar added.
