Will BCCI sign WV Raman and Gautam Gambhir both as coaches? Reports make a shocking claim

So far, Gautam Gambhir, a former opening batsman for India, is leading the race to become the head coach of the men’s national cricket team. While there may not be intense competition, it’s important to note that another former Indian opener, WV Raman, is also being considered. If we overlook their names and look at their coaching backgrounds, Gambhir has only been a mentor for IPL teams like Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders. On the other hand, Raman has extensive coaching experience, including roles in domestic cricket, the IPL, and the Indian women’s cricket team.

“The Indian cricket board should consider using both Raman and Gambhir. There are many ways to do this, like making Gambhir the head coach and Raman the batting coach, or giving Raman more influence in red ball cricket. There are lots of ways to use them because both can help Indian cricket, and that’s what the board should focus on,” said a source from News18 who has been following the situation.

Raman has watched these young players develop closely while he was a coach for various U-19 and A series. He could be the perfect person to guide these players as the team is about to go through big changes in the next few years. This is expected to start with T20s after the World Cup, and ODIs and Tests will also see these changes in the next 12 to 15 months,” said the source.

During the first round of interviews for the position of Team India’s head coach, former cricketer Gautam Gambhir faced some challenging questions.

The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) was ready to question Gambhir and Raman about their thoughts on the position Rahul Dravid will be leaving soon. Gambhir attended the interview online, while Raman was there in person.
