The second season of the ongoing WPL is in its final stages, as the two teams, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, have already made their way to the next round of the tournament.
With only one spot left for the playoffs, all three teams—Royal Challengers Bangalore,Up Warriors, and Gujrat Giants—are in contention for the playoffs.
Both RCB and Up have 6 points each in 7 matches. However, Smriti Mandhana and Company are currently placed third in the points table due to a better run rate.
RCB has a positive net run rate of +0.027; on the other hand, Up Warriors have a net run rate of -0.365.
However, RCB’s recent loss to Delhi by one run has made things quite interesting for them.
But RCB can still make it into the playoffs in the following two scenarios:
- RCB defeats Mumbai Indians and hopes Gujarat giants defeat Up Warriors. However, if Up Warriors beat the Gujarat Giants and RCB loses their final encounter against the Mumbai Indians, they will be knocked out of the competition.
- Royal challengers Bangalore beat the Mumbai Indians, and the Up Warriors beat the Gujarat Giants. If both teams lose their final encounter, then the team with a better net run rate will proceed in the next stage of the tournament.
