The iconic Indian opening batsman Sachin Tendulkar is set to receive a special tribute at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where a life-sized statue of the Master Blaster will be revealed before the India vs. Sri Lanka ODI match in the 2023 World Cup.

The final preparations for Tendulkar’s statue were underway on Tuesday, in anticipation of the replay of the 2011 ODI World Cup final on Thursday. Sachin Tendulkar celebrated his 50th birthday this year in April and this statue will be another milestone in his remarkable career.

The unveiling of Tendulkar’s statue will be graced by the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Sachin Tendulkar himself, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, treasurer Ashish Shelar, as well as officials from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), including president Amol Kale, secretary Ajinkya Naik, and other members of the apex council.

Sachin Tendulkar played his last international match on this ground and it will be an honor for him to see his statue at this ground.

Tendulkar was part of the team when India lifted the 2011 ODI World Cup Trophy under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
