Ex-team India player and Bengal’s skipper, Manoj Tiwari, has raised a question to his former teammate and captain, Ms. Dhoni.
After announcing his retirement,Manoj Tiwari, who has been serving his state team in Bangalore for a period of 19 years, took retirement from first-class cricket after leading his team to the final league game against Bihar.
Manoj Tiwari played 12ODI and three T20 matches for India. He raised a question about his former captain, Ms. Dhoni, asking why he was dropped from the team even after scoring 100.
Manoj Tiwari said, “I would like to ask Dhoni why I was dropped from the playing XI in 2011 after scoring a century. I had the potential to be a hero, just like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, but I could not be. Today, when I see many people getting more opportunities on TV, I feel sad.”.
Manoj Tiwari also expressed his concern over the players who are choosing the IPL over the Ranji Trophy or domestic cricket. Tiwari said that various players opting out of domestic cricket diminishes the importance of prestigious tournaments like the Ranji Trophy.
However, Tiwari refused to comment on this any further, saying that one more comment or opinion would lead to his ban.
Tiwari was recently fined 20% of his match fees, and he posted a tweet from his X account saying that BCCI should scrap the Ranji trophy.

Tiwari has also put eligations on BCCI, saying that it’s not run by sportspeople any more but by politicians. He said that he is a sportsperson and doesn’t want to indulge in fights with anyone but wants the prestigious Ranji Trophy to be prioritised by the players as it is slowly losing its importance.
