The Sunrisers Hyderabad Franchise is not going well in the last two seasons of the Indian Premier League(IPL). Apart from coming down the IPL points table, the team also saw the Warne-Management controversy after which David Warner was released from the team.
In the IPL 2022, SRH finished at the 8th position in the IPL points table and now they are on revamp mode as they have now fired the team’s head coach Tom Moody before IPL 2023. Not only this but former West Indian legend Brian Lara has been appointed as the head coach for the IPL 2023. Not to forget Brian Lara was the batting coach and strategic advisor for the team last year.
Moody joined SRH as the director of Cricket along with his countryman Trevor Bayliss as the head coach. However, when Bayliss left the SRH, Tom Moody was assigned the duties of head coach. 2013 was not horrible for Sunrisers Hyderabad as they managed to win only three games and they finished the points table being the lowest team.
Before IPL 2022, SRH only retained three players – Kane Williamson, Abdul Samad, and Umran Malik. In the mega-auction, they got a well-balanced squad but they came with poor performance.
Brian Lara has been one of the best cricketers who has a great sense of Cricket and its other aspects. The player is not as active as a coach but SRH will look to capitalize on Lara as he was one of the pioneers who took West Indies cricket to a great height
