‘This is exactly the four people you get to see playing eight out of 10 times’, Aakash Chopra Lauds The Strength Of Chennai Super Kings

India vs Pakistan

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has given his opinion on the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings ahead of the IPL auction 2023. The famous commentator has said that Chennai Super Kings have an impactful playing XI and they are not very dependent on their overseas players.

Ahead of the IPL auction, the Chennai-based franchise released their eight players, and they currently have a remaining budget of ₹31.4 crore. They have the flexibility to acquire a maximum of six players, which includes three foreign players.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said that CSK has a stable overseas group of players but they are not very much dependent on them.

He said, “They don’t have overdependence on overseas players. They stick with whoever they pick. They get Devon Conway to bat up the order, get Moeen Ali in the middle, and then they keep Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana. This is exactly the four people you get to see playing eight out of 10 times.”

Aakash Chopra said that CSK can become more stronger unit. He said, “They haven’t released too many people. The team was complete last year as well and they have chances to make it even stronger this year because, barring Akash Singh and Ambati Rayudu, none of the other players released were playing in the XI regularly.”

Talking further, he said that CSK released Aakash Singh from the squad which will not affect the team’s journey as they have Mukesh Choudhary with them.
