T20 World Cup 2022: This Star Player Rested For The Practice Game Against NZ

Team India is going through a lot of major injuries before the T20 World Cup 2022. Firstly Ravindra Jadeja and then Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out due to injury, as a result, the team has seen a couple of changes in the T20 World Cup squad.

Now, the management did not want to take more risk and this is the reason they have decided to rest Suryakumar for the practice game against New Zealand. As India is all ready to take against Pakistan on 23rd October at Melbourne Cricket Ground, the team will look to go with their full strength.

According to a report of InsideSport, either Deepak Hooda or Rishabh Pant would be picked in place of Suryakumar Yadav. The batter is continuously playing since IPL and the management wants to keep him fresh and energetic for the opening encounter against Pakistan. India won the first warm-up game against Australia by 6 runs. Speaking at the post-match presentation the Indian Captain Rohit Sharma said, “I thought we batted well, towards the end we could have added 10-15 runs more. We always want a set batter to stay till the end, SKY did it, overall a great batting effort with a nice bounce, was a pitch where you can trust your shots. You got to be smart with batting on grounds like these. You can’t forget to push the balls into the gaps, scoring 8-9 runs in an over can be quite an effective plan. It was a great practice game for us.”
