Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka Surpasses Chris Gayle And Virender Sehwag In This Massive Record, Joins Elite List Of Ishan Kishan And Maxwell

Star batter of Sri Lanka cricket Pathum Nissanka achieved numerous records by scoring a double century in the initial ODI against Afghanistan. He smashed his double hundred in just 136 deliveries to accomplish this huge feat in ODI cricket.

Scoring an unbeaten 210 runs, Pathum Nissanka recorded 20 fours and 8 sixes. His impressive innings had a strike rate of 151.07, making him the third-fastest to achieve a double century in terms of the number of balls faced. With his solid double hundred, Sri Lanka managed to post a total of 381 runs at the loss of three wickets.

With his innings, Nissanka has surpassed former West Indian cricketer Chris Gaye and the ex Indian opener Virender Sehwag in terms of scoring the most runs.

Chris Gayle smashed his double hundred against New Zealand during the 2015 ODI World Cup in just 138 balls. On the other hand, Sehwag smashed his double ton against the West Indies in Indore in just 140 balls.

The young Indian wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan holds the record to smash the fastest double hundred in ODI cricket history. He achieved this in just 126 balls against Bangladesh.

Glenn Maxwell is second on the list where he got his double hundred in just 128 deliveries against Afghanistan.
