Sunrisers Hyderabad started their bid by getting in the star Australian batter Travis Head for INR 6.8 Crore. Head has been one of the pillars of the Australian team and he has played an important role in making the team champions in major ICC events. He also smashed a hundred in the ODI World Cup final last month.
SRH had a bidding war with the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings but it was SRH at the last who secured his services. Head played for RCB in 2017 and that was his last season in this cash-rich league. The player had a base price of INR 2 crore and SRH got him with ease.
After this, the fans saw an adrenaline-bidding war between SRH and RCB for the acquisition of Australian skipper Pat Cummins. Cummins was sold to SRH for INR 20.5 crore. Experts are speculating that SRH may go with Cummins as their skipper for the next season. However, they already had an option in the name of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
