The prime matches of the ICC men’s T20 World Cup is set to begin on 22nd October. The first match of the tournament will be played between the finalists of the last edition – Australia and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, former Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar has picked 4 teams that could make it into the semi-final of the T20 World Cup. While picking the teams Sachin said that he wants Rohit Sharma’s side to lift the trophy. He picked India, England, Pakistan, and Australia as his favorites to be there in the playoffs of the tournament. As quoted by Sportstar, Sachin said,”Champion… I would want India to be the champion but my top four would be India, Pakistan, Australia, and England. New Zealand is a dark horse, and so is South Africa because they know the conditions and in South Africa, you get to encounter these conditions in September-October.” In the tournament, Australia, England, Afghanistan, and New Zealand are in Group A, on the other hand, India is there in group B along with Pakistan and South Africa.

Before flying to Australia, India had two successful T20 series, one against Australia and another one against South Africa. The team will play its opening match against Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23.
