Rising to the Occasion: Rohit Sharma’s Preparation for Bangladesh Warm-up Game

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is focused on adapting to the conditions in New York ahead of India’s warm-up game against Bangladesh at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Prior to the match, the Indian captain disclosed that the team is merely attempting to adjust to the surroundings as they have never been there before, making the warm-up game essential for the group. Prior to their first game on June 5, Rohit stressed the value of acquiring a feel for the pitch and ground and establishing a routine.

“We’re looking to understand the conditions more importantly (before the tournament proper), as we haven’t been here before. We will try to make the most of the conditions and get used to what it’s going to be like on June 5 when we play our first game. It’s just about getting into that rhythm of getting the feel of the ground, pitch, and stuff like that,” said Rohit in a video released by the ICC.

Rohit Sharma further spoke about the T20 World Cup being hosted for the first time in the USA and is expecting good support from the fans throughout the tournament.

Rohit Sharma said, “It looks beautiful. It’s quite an open field. When we come here and play our first game, I just can’t wait to feel the atmosphere in the stadium.”

“It’s a decent capacity as well. Hopefully, it’s going to be a good one. People in New York will be very interested in coming and watching the World Cup, with the World Cup happening for the first time here. I’m pretty sure all the fans across the various teams are quite excited and looking forward to this tournament. And also, players can’t wait to get started,” he added.

Rohit Sharma and company will play their first game of the tournament against Ireland on June 5.
