Record Alert: Virat Kohli Surpasses The Giant Kieron Pollard; Makes Into The Elite List Of MS Dhoni, De Villiers, Gayle, Rohit Sharma

Royal Challengers Bangalore lost to Lucknow Super Giants by one wicket in the 15th match of the Indian Premier League played at Chinnaswamy, Bangalore. The match went to the last ball where LSG had the last laugh. However, in this match, the former RCB captain, Virat Kohli had a great display of batting where he smashed 61 runs in just 44 balls with the help of four fours and as many sixes.

In his 218 innings in the IPL, Virat Kohli has now 227 sixes and he has surpassed the former Mumbai Indians all-rounder Kieron Pollard who hit 223 sixes in 171 IPL innings before retiring from the league after the 2022 edition.

Despite this achievement, the RCB player is still ranked among the top five cricketers with the most sixes in IPL history. He is currently only five sixes behind MS Dhoni, the Chennai Super Kings captain who has hit 232 maximums in the IPL.

The Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is in third place on the list with 241 sixes while the former Royal Challengers Bangalore player AB de Villiers is in second place with 251 sixes which he has got in 170 innings. The number one spot belongs to Chris Gayle with a remarkable 357 sixes in just 170 IPL innings. After Kohli, Rohit, and Dhoni the only other active cricketer with over 200 sixes in IPL history is Australian star and the current captain of Delhi Capitals David Warner.
