Record Alert: Virat Kohli Creates World Record, Surpasses Legendary Sachin Tendulkar With His Fiery Hundred Against Pakistan

Kohli has completed 13,000 runs in One Day Internationals and become the fastest player to achieve this milestone. With his 47th century in ODIs, Kohli achieved this massive feat in his ODI career.

Virat Kohli has set a world record by completing 13,000 ODI runs in just 267 innings. With this, he has surpassed the previous Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar’s record, who had played 321 innings to reach this milestone. Before Kohli, only four players have scored 13,000 runs in ODI cricket and they are – Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara, and Sanath Jayasuriya.

This century against Pakistan was Virat Kohli’s 47th century in ODIs during the Super 4 match of the Asia Cup 2023 against Pakistan. He became the fastest player to achieve this feat in this format. Kohli achieved this milestone in 267 innings breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record, who had played 435 innings to reach this achievement.

Virat Kohli has now moved to the third position in terms of scoring the most 50-plus scores in ODIs. This was 112th fifty of Kohli in ODIs and with this he has equalled the legendary Australian batsman Ricky Ponting. Sachin Tendulkar leads the list with 145 50-plus scores, while Kumar Sangakkara holds the second position with 118 half centuries.
